V is a fictional character co-created by writer Alan Moore and artist David Lloyd, debuting in the anthology series Warrior #1 in 1982 before becoming the central figure in the DC Comics/Vertigo series, V for Vendetta.
V is an anarchist revolutionary operating in a dystopian, totalitarian United Kingdom. He wears a Guy Fawkes mask to conceal his identity and embodies the spirit of rebellion and individual freedom. His goal is to dismantle the oppressive regime and inspire the people to think for themselves. V is incredibly intelligent, a skilled fighter, and a master of manipulation and theatricality.
V's past is shrouded in mystery, but it is revealed that he was a survivor of a government-run concentration camp where he was subjected to horrific experiments that granted him enhanced physical and mental abilities. His motivation stems from a desire for revenge against those responsible for his suffering and the societal system that allowed it to happen.
